Dementia care and older adults

Individuals with Learning Disabilities & Autism
Orchid Care Services brings extensive expertise in providing specialist support for individuals with learning disabilities and autism. We believe that every person deserves opportunities to thrive, develop independence and lead fulfilling lives within their communities.
Our approach is rooted in Positive Behaviour Support, empowering individuals with tailored assistance that respects their unique strengths and needs. We specialise in structured routines, communication strategies and sensory-friendly environments that promote comfort and confidence. Whether supporting individuals in home settings or helping them transition into independent living, we focus on building life skills, fostering meaningful relationships and encouraging personal growth.
By working collaboratively with families, charities, work placements, and multidisciplinary teams, we ensure that individuals receive the highest standard of care and advocacy. Orchid Care Services is committed to delivering not just support but understanding, inclusion and respect for every individual’s journey.
Supporting individuals with physical and/or sensory impairment
Orchid Care Services provides support to those who require assistance with physical and/or sensory impairments. Our specialised team and tailored approach allow person-centred support within an individual’s own environment, respite services or out in the community. We work collaboratively with Orchid CareEquip or any other equipment provider to ensure individuals have the appropriate equipment to enable independence and empowerment.
Understanding the Cost of Care
At Orchid Care, we believe great care cannot be reduced to a simple hourly rate.
Every individual we support has unique needs, routines, preferences, and goals. That’s why we create bespoke care packages tailored around the person — whether that involves companionship visits, complex support, overnight care, sleeping or waking night services, or full 24-hour support.
While some providers may advertise a standard “hourly care rate”, truly safe and effective care involves much more than the time spent in someone’s home.
Our service includes:
- personalised care planning,
- ongoing reviews and oversight,
- specialist management support,
- staff training and supervision,
- continuity of carers,
- safeguarding and compliance,
- coordination with families and professionals,
- and responsive support when needs change.
This holistic approach ensures we can deliver compassionate, safe, and dependable care that evolves with each client’s circumstances.
Funding Options
Orchid Care supports both:
- clients funded through Jersey’s Long-Term Care Scheme, and
- privately funded clients seeking flexible support solutions.
Current Rates (2026)
- Jersey Long-Term Care Scheme rate: £36.37 per hour
- Orchid Care private support rate: from £38.50 per hour
However, the overall cost of care will vary depending on the complexity and structure of the support package required.
Factors that influence care arrangements may include:
- level of clinical or behavioural support,
- frequency and duration of visits,
- specialist training requirements,
- overnight or sleeping shifts,
- technology-enabled care,
- risk management and safeguarding oversight,
- and multidisciplinary coordination.
